THE DAY I PHOTOGRAPHED ANGELS

Last September I was invited along at the last minute to an event.  Someone had dropped out and there was a spare ticket so I decided to go along even though I had no idea what the talk was about.  On my way there I took some photos for a presentation that I was putting together and duly arrived for the talk at the appointed time.  That’s when things started to get a bit weird . . . . . . . . I took some photos during the event but was annoyed to find that my usually reliable camera was taking shots obscured by shafts light and blurred yellow blobs . . . . . . . It took a while for the penny to drop as I was initially more concerned about the fact that my camera was having a melt down, but I eventually realised that I was capturing on film exactly what the speaker, Lorne Byrne, Author of Angels In My Hair, was describing.  To take a look at some of the photographs for yourself visit: http://youtu.be/nqaYY1RZIzs

 

BREAKING NEWS!!!

It was only agreed this week, so besides my previous PhotoReading Graduates, you are the first to know!  I am going to be doing a joint presentation with Paul Scheele for the Learning Strategies NLPfest taking place in September.  Can’t say too much about it now except pencil in these dates: Monday 12^th – Wednesday 21^st September 2011.  I will send you further details as soon as the official announcements have been made.   

PS: It all happens online so no need to take a flight anywhere!!

A QUESTION FOR YOU REGARDING NLP?

LIVE ROYAL WEDDING PHOTOS

Did you make it to the Royal Wedding to see William and Kate tie the knot and start married life?  If ‘no’, worry not, I was there to capture the proceedings!  Somehow, despite arriving in London at 9.50am I was able to get up close to all the action of the day.

I got a great shot of William and Kate in the carriage together as they leave the Abbey and head back to Buckingham Palace.  I was also there again, front and centre, for the famous balcony scene.  I’ve had a good 200 or so of my facebook friends comment on the album so far, some of which include:

I'M LOOKING FOR 2 PILOT CASE STUDIES

I have just finished designing the 6-month Life TranceFormation™ Programme.  This is not to say that it will take 6-months to get your desired results, but I am looking to test the additional effectiveness of having ongoing support after the transformational work is completed. 

The key components of the TranceFormation™ Programme include:

AN EVENING WITH ACTRESS CHERIE LUNGHI 

I am attending an event next week for the Angelus Foundation.  Hosted by the Duchess of Kent and Maryon Stewart, the Foundation was set up by Maryon after her daughter died as a result of taking what were marketed as a ‘legal high’ drug.  The Foundation seeks to alert young people to the dangers of such unclassified drugs and change the laws surrounding them.  Actress Cherie Lunghi is a Patron of the foundation and will also be in attendance on the night.

If you work in the area of young people, drugs awareness, or have a legal or political background and would like to attend as my guest please let me know.  The event takes place at 6pm on Tuesday 28^th June at an investment bank in the City (London).  If you would like to attend:

Neale Donald Walsch on Having Your Own Conversation With God

HAVING YOUR OWN CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD

I was on an interesting call with Neale Donald Walsch, best selling author of the book Conversations With God, a couple of days ago where he shared information about how to more easily have your own conversation with God.

Neale said that one of the questions he is asked most often when he meets people who have read his book is “I’ve tried everything, I really want to have a conversation with God and I’ve been praying and hoping yet nothing happens, where am I going wrong?”

We began the call with 10 seconds of silence, just listening with the heart and mind . . . . . . .

When Neale had that first conversation he was at a point in his life where everything seemed meaningless and he asked “Dear God, there must be something more.  Is this all there is?”  “What have I done to deserve a life of such meaninglessness?”

The key is connecting to your soul.  See yourself as more than just a 2-part mind and body and experience the totality of who you are.  Start with having a connection and collaboration with the soul and make this part of your daily experience.  The only way to get to the soul is through the soul and the mind is the doorway to the soul.  Being connected to your soul opens the doorway to having a more direct connection and conversation with the Divine (or as some would say, the God of your understanding).

Neale Donald Walsch shared 3 key steps for connecting to the soul.

1. The mind must agree to step outside of itself. 

This is where you ask your mind to step aside and allow you access to that doorway.  There are particular ways to speak to the mind and offer assurances in order to get it to work with you rather than against you,(and if you are a Breakthrough Client of mine you will certainly already know how to do that – cast your mind back to the example of the 6 year old child and the flowers!!)

1. Get free of your story and your data. 

Choose a state of ‘being’ because this is where the soul resides.  Again, get your mind to turn itself to a new way of being and have it focus in a new way, inviting the mind to focus on the soul, calling forth a new state of being.  Neale also spoke about the importance of desire and cultivating a hunger for the connection that you seek.  It is about being more connected in a deep, caring and loving way.

1. Expand your consciousness and awareness.

Neale spoke of allowing the consciousness to expand like ink on blotting paper, opening your ears to really listen.  The messages from God can come in a 1000 different ways so pay attention to what you’re paying attention to. (For those of you that I have worked with, this is very much like the process we go through after the Coaching, Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy work to attune both your conscious mind and unconscious mind to notice the changes and new opportunities).  Commit to meet, listen, and hear your soul every single day.

Neale also shared 7 key steps to really making that connection, all of which also seem very straightforward.  Step 4, Completion, relates to dealing with the unfinished business in your life and letting go of baggage.  Over the past 11 years that I have been doing Breakthrough Sessions with clients, that is probably one of the most common things which holds people back in all areas of life.

So what did Marianne Williamson say when I asked her about those inspirational words?

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting with international author and spiritual teacher Marianne Williamson during her visit to London.  

Some people may not be immediately familiar with her name, but the chances are you have heard her words, and if you know of Nelson Mandela, then you may know Marianne without even realising it.

The piece below, commonly attributed to Nelson Mandela was in fact written by Marianne Williamson.  During our time together I had the opportunity to speak to her about these now famous words.  I said:

"Marianne, myself and I know many others have been touched by the words which have so often been attributed to Nelson Mandela, summed up in Our Deepest Fear.  Can I ask you, what was the inspiration behind those powerful words, what was going on for you at the time and how did you come up with them?"

Marianne's answer follows beneath the piece about which I speak.

MARIANNE WILLIAMSON

Our Deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves:

“Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?"  Actually, who are you NOT to be?

You are a child of God.  Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.

There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It is not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,  We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

 

Marianne's answer, paraphased below, did surprise me:

"I am always surprised about how popular those words became.  There were many words written at the same time because they come from the book A Return to Love where I was simply reflecting on the principles of A Course In Miracles so the words were really just my reflection of that.  Why those words and not something else?  I really don't know."

From my perspective, it was those words that resonated because of the truth contained within them.  Many people do play small, many do hide their light rather than allowing it to shine, many do play small and go through their entire lives not fully appreciating, recognising or realising their talents and natural brilliance.

So, on this day which is associated with resurrection and re-birth, regardless of your religious denomination, I encourage you to see which part of your life, if any, could benefit from having more light shining upon it.  Is there an area in which you are not allowing yourself to shine?  Do you see your brilliance and fabulous-ness?  Do you recognise how liberating yourself from a fear could open the door for so many others?
