My first PhotoReading Taster Session on Friday 3^rd February at the City Business Library in Moorgate was fully booked and everyone showed up plus several others who hoped they’d be able to nab a spare seat as there is often a high last minute drop out rate for events. THE RELATIONSHIP BREAK-UPS AND SHAKE UPS

Gina Batt (the Psychic who presented the Delving Into 2012 Conference call last month) and I know of 12, many of them very solid couples, who announced their divorce or separation this year.  Another 3 made a similar shock announcement in the first 3 days of February! During the Star Signs and Planetary influences call at the beginning of January Gina said that 2012 was going to be a big year as far as relationships and life decisions were concerned, with 2012 being about ‘Time’ and ‘Timing’ which includes time to re-assess, take stock, and if necessary move on to pastures new.  Letting go of the past can often be challenging in and of itself, and doubly so if you are not the one choosing to make the decision.  We will be discussing all of these issues in much more detail during The Relationship Fest workshop on Saturday 11^th February. 

Even the Hollywood poster couple for a happy marriage Seal and Heidi Klum have announced their separation this year.

There are some key questions to be answered, fears to be addressed, and often a sense of self that needs to be regained if you have made the decision that the time is right to make some changes so I have asked Gina if she and her ‘team’ would be willing to do a special Conference Call to address some of these key issues and share some exercises and take us through a guided process.  It will be a closed call but if you’d like a copy of the session hot off the press just drop me a mail with ‘Relationship Call’ in the subject line and I’ll send you the download link once we’ve done the call.

We then invited them all back in again. The changes were immediate and even those not particularly attuned to energy were able to notice the difference.

FREE PHOTO SHOOT

I had an e-mail from a friend this week saying that her brother was a photographer and that he was offering a limited number of free photo shoots during January to increase his online portfolio.  I must admit that I thought ‘yeah, right, a photographer’ until I looked at his website.  As Oprah would say, WOWIE KAZOWIE!!!!!  The pictures were fantastic. He’s done amazing shots of people, cars, motorsport, animals, abstracts, and birds. I then immediately went back and asked if I would be able to extend the offer to my mailing list as I know many of you are in businesses which could benefit from the use of professional photos.

I am definitely a lifelong learner and I also decided over the past year or so to take a bit of a step back from events because I was kind of ‘evented out.’  I only went along to the Financial Game of Life Bootcamp because I knew the organisers and I said I’d be there to support them as it was their first event.  Well it turns out that they really didn’t need that much support.  Despite it being their first event supporting Wilson Luna, his reputation back home in Australia (98,000 happy clients and a regular on Australian news and current affairs TV shows) spoke for itself and it was a full house.  Wilson is coming back to the UK to run another FREE Financial Game of Life Bootcamp on Saturday 28^th January in London.  In Luna’s words, it is a self contained day, designed to give you valuable insights and information that you can put into practice straight away.

THE MIND BODY SPIRIT RELATIONSHIP FEST

Following on from the great time that we had at the Mind Body Spirit Energy Fest 1-Day Workshop in December, Gina, Karina and I will be getting together again on Saturday 11^th February and turning our attention to the subject of Relationships.

Of course romantic relationships, or lack thereof, will be one of the key themes for the day but we also want to look at enhancing all types of work, family, and social relationships. 

We’ll be looking at clearing out old beliefs and energies around relationships, getting clarity on your relationship values, looking at what you can do to improve existing relationships, helping those of you that are single get more ‘relationship ready’ so that you are in better position to attract what you want, charging up your relationship energy, looking at any spiritual blocks in that area and clearing them, and lots more besides.  It will be run along similar lines to the December event, with each of the 3 speakers using their skills and expertise to work a bit of magic in all 3 areas.

Why Did Hollywood Power Couple J Lo & Marc Anthony Break Up?

  

WHY DID POWER COUPLE JENNIFER LOPEZ & MARC ANTHONY GO FROM WEDDED BLIS 
STRAIGHT TO THE DIVORCE COURT?

So, the 3 times married and serial divorcee Jennifer Lopez has just scored a hat trick and announced her split from husband Marc Anthony.

According to insider reports J Lo was fed up of Marc’s controlling behaviour, however only the power couple themselves can really confirm or deny that rumour.

How though, does a seemingly happy couple who performed a scintillating routine together on the May 2011 American Idol TV show, suddenly get to the point of announcing a possible divorce a mere 2 months later?

Only a month ago the couple opened up to Latina Magazine about their life, relationship, marriage and family.  Deputy Editor Angie Romero said when interviewed this week that she saw no real signs of a split on the horizon.

In her single Starting Over (released in December 2010), the lyrics leave little to the imagination if one were to take them literally:

J Lo refers to "my man" as a "dog" and a "player," watching these dreams falling apart at the seams.  All his secrets, all his lies, I just keep pushing 'em out my mind . . . . . .  Nobody wants to be on the one breaking up . . . . . .  I’ve gotta make decisions.  I’m strong but who am I kidding.  I’ll be OK but this love is tearing me in half.”

The song however wasn’t penned by the songstress herself so its seeming relevance could be mere coincidence after the fact.

In the song One Love, with writing credits going to Ms Lopez she sings:

“This one sang to me, but I'm not sure.   So worn out, but ... made me wanna try once more."

So what could possibly have gone wrong in such a short space of time?

What I share from here onwards are my thoughts and opinions based on my own relationships, and those of the hundreds of clients that I have Coached in this area over the past 10 years.

From what I have seen there are some fundamental reasons why a couple that you’ve known forever and who seem to have the perfect relationship (if there is such a thing) go from ‘We were made for each other’ status to ‘Get me my divorce lawyer. Now!’  In this article I share some of the fundamental and underlying issues that commonly lead to relationship breakdowns and break-ups, and why it sometimes comes as a shock when a couple announce a sudden split or divorce.

THE ART OF ILLUSION

When going through a rough patch many couples want the time and space to see if they can work things out.  Once you start announcing to the world that a split may be imminent or that all is not well, you can be bombarded with opinions, questions, I told you so’s, and unwanted scrutiny.  It is sometimes easier therefore to keep up the illusion whilst you get your own thoughts straight.

DIRTY LAUNDRY

I know it may seem like an odd concept in the social media ‘I just ate my breakfast’ tweet driven world in which we live, but contrary to popular belief, not everyone wants to air their private laundry in public.  I can only imagine what it is like to live in the high profile bubble which a superstar like Jen inhabits, but preserving some privacy must come high up on the list when so much of one’s life is public.

YOU LIVE IN HOPE

If you have invested a lot of yourself in the marriage, as Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have, you want things to work out.  You hope that after each argument things will be different.  You hope that the latest counselling session will be THE ONE to clear the air.  You hope that you can put the past behind you.  You hope that you can let past resentments go.  You hope that you won’t become just another break-up statistic.  You hope that you will be the one’s able to make it though the storm and come out the other side triumphant.  Whilst living in hope people tend to ‘act as if’ in public, because acting as if focuses the mind on regaining what you had as a couple.

IT’S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!

I know we think we own the lives of our celebrities and that we are somehow entitled to know every little detail of their lives, but realistically, it’s none of our business.  Just as I wouldn’t expect to knock on a strangers door and expect them give me a chapter and verse run down of every sordid detail of their lives, nor do I expect that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony should have given us, the public, a blow by blow account of their private and intimate life.  Many people when going through tough times in their relationships want to confine those difficulties to the people that matter to them most.  Those people might include trusted friends and family, but sometimes it extends just to the couple themselves.

THE SHAME OF IT ALL

Sometimes it’s just downright embarrassing to have a relationship go down the tube.  Particularly, if like Ms Lopez you are on your 4^th engagement and 3^rd marriage.  When many years ago one of my partners had an affair I felt a sense of shame, as though it was somehow a reflection of me, that I wasn’t good enough to keep the relationship together.  There is no suggestion of an affair as far as Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are concerned, there could however be a huge sense of disappointment or even a sense of failure that with all they have going for them and traits they bring to the table, it just wasn’t enough.  A relationship break up can also be a huge blow to one's self esteem and confidence.

THE OSTRICH SYNDROME

There is sometimes the inevitable head in the sand routine, simply not wanting to face up to what is really going on and the trajectory that you are on.  I’ve coached couples and singles, who are in shock at the end of their marriage or relationship, yet dig a little deeper and the signs were there for all to see.  And these signs would have been visible to one or both of the parties had they wanted to take note and face up to whatever was going on.

IN DENIAL

Bedfellows with the Ostrich Syndrome is just plain old fashioned denial.  'It could never happen to me.  It won’t come to that.  We’ll get through it.  Stuff like that doesn’t happen to us.  It will all just get better, somehow.'  True, for many it doesn’t ever come to that, and a rough patch is just that, a rough patch.  For others however, being in a state of denial fuels the problem because living in that space means that they don’t take the necessary action to resolve issues or turn things around.

INCOMPATIBILITY - THEY JUST AIN'T THAT INTO YOU . . . . . ANYMORE

There are just those times where as a couple people grow apart.  Priorities or values shift, what you want in life changes, what was a cute habit becomes a major annoyance, or energetically or in terms of spiritual development or personal evolution you find yourself on different wavelengths and out of tune with each other.  Besides being flexible and re-evaluating your own life in order to fit in or remain in alignment with your partner and what they want, sometimes it is simply better to acknowledge that you are no longer the people that came together at the start of the union.  I am all for working at a relationship and growing with each other rather than apart, however, sometimes people change in ways that mean they are no longer the person that you choose to spend the rest of your life with.

ARE THE JENNIFER’S DOOMED????

It seems that both Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston, talented, beautiful, successful, rich and by all accounts funny and personable, are continuously unlucky in love.  I’m not one for superstition, but could there be something in the name . . . . . . .

What has The Metro Newspaper got to do with your Relationships? I am looking for 3 people who want to find out . . . .!

I spent the best part of the next 3 years doing Relationship Breakthrough Sessions with clients and couples, helping them get over past relationships, break old patterns and addictions, and restore a sense of confidence and self esteem.  One of the things that surprised me most initially was that the majority of people to come forward were men, and their issues weren’t dissimilar to the challenges that women were facing.
